Detroit Public Theater
Detroit, MI

In a collaboration with New York-based project designer, Dash Marshall, Amy Baker Architect provided code review, project oversight, and specifications as the Architect of Record for the interior build-out of a historic auto garage building in Midtown.

A multi-function lobby space opens up to a bar where theater patrons can wait for a show in the black box theater beyond. Contemporary finishes and furnishings complement the historic roof truss structure, which is to be left exposed.

The black box theater will seat up to 200 people. The acoustic, lighting, and AV design is flexible, allowing for a variety of different performance types and stage layouts.
